Once the giver, always the giver
Last to find out, first to tell
First to catch, last to be caught
Last to let go, first to be given up on
First to plan, last to get a man
Last to leave, first to be left
First to feed, last to be fed
Last to be remembered, first to remind
First to call, last to be called
Last to be thought of, first to think
Don't let yourself become this person
And if you do, it's your fault you do
So, don't take it out on the rest of the world
For they do not care, why should they?
They know how to be happy,
They know how to say things just for fun,
They know how to live life, how to smile
You clearly don't. Don't strip people of these pleasures
Come back when you learn to live.
Come back when you learn to laugh.
Come back, when you want to be happy.
For that's the best kind of reality-
The kind you fight for,
The kind that should be fought for,
The kind you'll get if you really want it,
The kind that makes other people happy too.
This reality doesn't mean perpetual happiness,
It means knowing when to stop crying
It means asking for help because you want to get better
It means respecting the existence of knowledge
In other's, and their lives, though to you it may seem latent
This reality is the best kind, for it entails a balanced lifestyle
This reality is the best kind, because it lets you be sad
But, only for a rational, measured while.

I somehow sense big chunks of contradiction in this one. More in detail later.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures!
This is ALL about contradiction!
ReplyDeleteLike that other poem on which you were the only one to comment- Misunderstood.
